Very nice campground and we lucked out with a roomy, "satellite friendly" (first time I heard that term in a park but it makes sense!) site facing a large pond with a fountain. Staff was friendly and always appreciate the extra touches like escorts in, delivering firewood and picking up garbage (although you do pay for those). They are working on some improvements (like the laundry room) and we will stay again next time through the area.
We just had an overnight stay here and we loved it! Check in was easy and pleasant. Got an escort to our site with firewood delivered. The patio was perfect for our dinner guests. Campground was well maintained. Definitely visit again. This was our first KOA stay so thanks for a great experience.
We had come to visit family in the area, as well as go to an event in DC. Due to a family emergency we had to extend our stay a week, for a total of 10 days. No problem at all! They were very nice about it and we got to keep our same …
This campground is nice. We passed thru & stayed one night. It was quiet as far as the people staying there, but the interstate is right behind the park- you can see the traffic rolling down the road & most definitely hear it! All Night Long! But other than that it was a nice over night stay. They sell Propane Gas there... that was a nice service! (Rooms = sites)
Reserved an RV spot in January 2023 for the KOA weekend in September. They moved me to a cheaper site on the other side of the campground in February without notifying me. My brother rented a cabin, checked on my site the day we were to meet and informed me of the site which differed from the reserved spot we supposed to have. We had out RV packed and ready to travel down there but thought to contact the site before we got on the road. They did not offer to refund the difference in the price of the RV spots but only offered to refund the $10 fee for RESERVING the spot I selected in January. Manager was combative and RUDE. I told her I wanted to be put back on the side of the campground I reserved if the original spot wasn't available. From the second she got on the phone, she began shouting and aggressively demanded I cancel the reservation. After I gave up on finding a reasonable solution, I agreed to cancel the reservation and she hung up on me before I could finish my sentence. I contacted KOA and politely canceled my membership. The campground should have notified my that they moved me in February but didn't. They claimed that they had to move campers from another campground and some of the spots, including mine were taken. That doesn't change the fact that they should have contacted those of us affected, there's no excuse for not contacting us affected and treating customers the way we were treated...
This KOA is a hidden gem that surely shines during the peak season. We appreciate the great value and friendly staff on our break from the road while passing through the area. The laundry was out of service, which was not great. However I cannot argue with upgrading their facilities during the off season.
We stayed here twice on our journey up and down the east coast and both nights were easy in easy out. The campground is quiet and clean. We had pull-through sites with full hook-up. Internet was good - 5G. If you arrive during store hours, they have a guide to take you right to your site. Staff is friendly. Showers and bathrooms were clean. Green space for the pups. Suggestion....a change machine in the laundry would be helpful. Only complaint was that our septic was above our parking pad on our second night, so emptying was more challenging.
Campground was very nice and clean. Lots were decent size and easy to maneuver. Not much to do for the kids and the campground is fairly small. It's a little further to the city of Fredericksburg than we originally thought. It would be a perfect campground for a night or while traveling along I-95.
